The cake was magnificent. Moist and tasty without being overly rich � spongy and delicate , it doesn�t like to be cut which suggest that it must be consumed in large slices. Which I know is naughty but I did not seem to mind. I loved it.

From what I've tasted so far, I can only imagine the rest, which I'll never get to taste. I have my favorites...............MILLIONAIRES SHORTBREAD is mine and my family's ultimate favorite. Hmm, they melt in the mouth and may I add, travel well, internationally. Not one of my cookies were broken on arrival. Excellent packaging.

I have yet to order and taste the cupcakes!! That will be after the wedding, sometime in Oct. I can hardly wait!!! I have forwarded your website to my colleagues, and they have compared it to one of the finest high end French Bakery's in the area where we work. Believe me, that says a whole lot!

To Sweet Things ... (oh how sweet!)

Thank you so much for those beautifully iced, delicious cupcakes, they dazzled the food table at my engagement party and enticed the taste buds of my friends and I. Pity they were all gone so fast!

In fact, my mom and fiancé fought over the last one!:)

Also the baked cheesecake is to die for! Melt-in-the-mouth sensation. Unfortunately words cannot thoroughly describe the wonderful taste!

Dear Baker,

I just wanted to thank you for the surprise gift package we received for our 1st Anniversary!

It was packed full with different butter biscuits...all of which we thoroughly enjoyed with a cup of tea. They made it safely all the way to Chicago with not one biscuit getting broken!

My favorite would have to be the almond creams. I told Erwin that those are off limits! He can have any of the others :)

Anyway, thank you again. Your biscuits (and cakes and everything else)are always, always so delicious and decadent!

Allow me to introduce you to one of Cape Town's best kept secrets - SWEET THINGS owned by Heidi Lodewyk

From her vast range of cakes, my personal favorites are the "Death By Chocolate", "Chocolatey Choc", "Chocolate Mousse" & "Vanilla Caramel" not to mention her cheesecakes and summer tarts...

Her delicious cupcakes are bound to leave you spoiled for choice and I have yet to exhaust the variety on offer. Each time I place an order I'm left thinking that I should have purchased something more!

When it comes to the cookies on offer I can only confess that they are melt-in-the-mouth good. One bite and my vistors' only response is "hmmm..hmmm, these are really great". I've recommended the cookies to my boss and now we order regularly for all our office meetings and on occasion, for corporate gifts which Heidi packages in a very creative manner.

I'm still working my way through Heidi's range of "Sweet Things" and it is my hope that she will be around for many years to come. The superb quality, artistic presentation and excellent service are backed by her "can do" attitude which is rare to find these days. My family and I will be coming back for more SWEET THINGS for a long time to come!

Not only was your service impeccable from the outset, but the cakes were beautiful.I put the cakes on a stand at the party and when it was time to go home, I gave each child the option of choosing one. You had to see their faces, trying to make such a tough decision at the age of 5!

The cake (Chocolate Caramint with Truffles) was such a wonderful surprise to both of us, but it was so magnificent and beautiful � even Vanco (TiggerTooBoat Charters V&A) said that it is the most beautiful wedding cake he has seen (and he does weddings all the time!!!) what a compliment to you!!!! Well done Heidi. I will send some pics once I receive them� everything went so well.. the only thing is when we opened the top part of the cake at home, all the hand made truffles were �stolen�� apparently everyone raved about the truffles and the cake. It was delicious� thank you so much for your effort made. You had a part in ONE PERFECT WEDDING!!!!
